Welcome to the WATTNESS (Wyalusing, Athens, Towanda, Troy, NorthEast, Sayre) home page. WATTNESS is a team involved in U.S. FIRST ("For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology").
The FIRST Competition is a national engineering contest which immerses high school students in the exciting world of engineering. Over six very short yet intense weeks, students and local volunteers work together to brainstorm, design, construct and test their robot. The teams then compete in a spirited, no-holds-barred regional tournament complete with referees, time clocks and huge amounts of cheering. This year, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Competition (sponsored by Johnson & Johnson) will once again be held at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey in March.

Presidential Thoughts on FIRST:
I am proud of the students participating in the FIRST Competition for using their energy and creativity to imagine a brighter future for themselves and our nation. I thank the families, teachers, engineers, and corporate leaders whose hard work and dedication to excellence have inspired these teams to discover that science can be fun, accessible, and the key to personal and professional fulfillment.

Our History:We're back again, in our sophomore year as the Bradford County FIRST team, after competing in the competition at Rutgers, finishing 10th out of approximately 50 teams that entered. This year, we hope to improve on that finish and compete in the national competition in Orlando, FL.
Speaking of history, since we sometimes feel nostalgia, we have last year's page here, in case you wanted to view that as well.
